Okay, so what's been up? In the five days I've seen two very different shows. First, a week ago, I went to New York City to see Black Star at B.B. King's. This was the final show of their tour, so they were packed with guests. The lineup went something like this: K.Naan, Jean Grae, Pharoahe Monch, Talib Kweli, Rass Kass, Slum Village, Hi-Tek, Dead Prez, and Mos Def. All except Jean Grae were incredible. Then Saturday I went with Michelle, mom, Michelle's family, Kristin, and her family to see Wicked at the Bushnell in Hartford. Well, it wasn't as good as I would have liked to it be (in that I've heard the original cast recording so much, I noticed every difference), but it was very well done in terms of set and costume and stuff. It was nice to go.

Also, Michelle went snowboarding for the first time. Regardless of what she may claim, she had fun, and did very well.

Just got back from a trip to Tennessee to photograph my uncle's wedding. I came back with nearly 700 photos. Here are a few quick favorites. I haven't had time to adjust them or crop/adjust them or anything, so what you see is what I shot.

These first photos are from the remains of a barn that has burned down somewhat recently, with lots of stuff inside it.

These next four involve the children at the wedding doing something or other.

My cousin's daughter, Greta, sleeping.

Greta pretty much making art. That's my uncle and new aunt, who just got married.

So I'm in my town, driving along, paying attention, doing the speed limit. Up ahead there is an Acura MDX. I didn't see any brake lights or turn signal, so it takes a minute before I realize it is stopped in the middle of the road. I slam on the brakes, but end up crunching right into it. That's basically it. It was a simple thing. My fault. The guy and his two daughters were okay. Michelle went to the ER just to make sure she was okay since she had some neck and stomach pain, but she was cleared. Although she is still sore, so hopefully she will feel better soon. Luckily, the guy I hit, the police officer that came, and the EMT that came are all family friends. Yay for small towns.

Sooooooooo...lets see. It's been a while. I will give a brief rundown of my recent activities, but mostly I will be posting photos and maybe a quiz or some other lame shit.

I am halfway through the one hundred or so CDs I brought from home, about eighty percent through the old slides and photos, and I just brought a new haul of over 150 CDs (mostly oldies and greatest hits) from the house to convert to MP3.

I got a new camera setup. Instead of being lame and posting everything I got, I will just post the general idea...Canon 20D (with battery grip), Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 IS USM lens, Sigma 14mm f/2.8 lens, Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 Macro lens, Speedlite 580EX flash, Bogen/Manfrotto tripod and monopod, and Lowepro Nature Trekker bag. That's the general idea. Needless to say, it is vastly emotional. I haven't put it completely to work yet, but what I've taken, I like. (Some of which will be posted here.)

My computer is pretty fucked up, so I will be looking into something new soon. I'll probably assemble it myself, since it's a lot cheaper considering the technology I want. In case anyone cares, I'm looking at a Dual Core Pentium X, 2x 256 or 512 MB SLi BFG video cards, 23" widescreen LCD monitor, Windows XP 64-bit, 4 or 8 GB RAM, etc.

Anyway, it will be a summer to remember. Or some cheesy crap like that.

Argh...I just spent 20 minutes filling out a really lame quiz and then it got lost. Oh well, you aren't missing anything.
